After about twenty years genuinely working for the postal service, our dad has finally made the decision to go ahead and retire.
He’s been living here up north all his life and he completely is fatigued of the ice, snow, and cold rapidly decreasing temperatures.
Every year when the weather starts cooling off, our dad gets into a terrible mood and he stays that way until the Spring. He says that cold rapidly decreasing temperatures make him grumpy, and I certainly believe him! He keeps talking about moving south whenever he retires, however I have regularly thought that he was just merely blowing smoke. Then last week, I came to learn that he has made an offer on a current property and he’s moving next month when he retires! I honestly can’t find it easy to believe it, but he’s super happy about it and so I am thrilled for him. He told myself and others that he’s most happy about the fact that he won’t have to bother paying another heating bill for as long as he lives. In the part of the country where he’s moving, it’s considered a cold snap if the temperature easily falls below 72 degrees. My dad says that he’s completely looking forward to using a/c equipment for a change instead of consistently making sure that his gas heating machine is running regularly. I’m really going to miss him, however I feel that he will truly enjoy living where the weather is regularly sizzling and sunny. I am a little bit jealous of him, to be totally honest. He told myself and others that he was moving on the same morning that every one of us were getting a gas furnace installed in our property. It just made me realize that I’m going to be stuck paying costly heating bills throughout this frosty season, too!
