My favorite coffee shop just had to get a new air purification system installed.
They make other foods other than coffee, and so the place has a lot of different cooking odors that tend to hang around and reduce the indoor air quality in the restaurant and reading area.
The manager told me that in order to get rid of all of the lingering odors of burned food and coffee, they talked to a commercial HVAC company about installing a commercial air filtration system. I guess at certain businesses, they use something called a smoke eater to get rid of the smells of cigarette smoke. But since there is no smoking allowed at this coffee shop, they weren’t worried about removing that sort of odor. Instead, they wanted an air purification system that would get rid of the smells of grease, burned food, and coffee. They also wanted something that would be able to remove dust, dirt, pollen, and other allergens from their ventilation system. The manager told me that the commercial HVAC company installed an amazing commercial air filtration system that is ceiling mounted and that has a remote control. It runs at the same time as their heating and cooling system and it makes the indoor air quality in the coffee shop so much better! I already loved going there for their chicken salad croissants and caramel lattes, but now I like it even more than I did before. I’m happy that the management thinks that the indoor air quality in the restaurant is so important that he would install an air purifier.
